Navigate to edit Promotion Rule and select type Discount from 'Rule type' drow down. 


With Discount promotion rule, configure what you plan to discount in currency or points. If currency amount is specified, you need to select the Currency.


You can configure one or more promotion rules with different currencies, allow your customers to choose which currency they want to pay in.


Select 'Condition' section to edit rule conditions. 



Discount Types

Discount Promotion Rule supports a number of ways to apply discount:

  • Per Unit
  • Total Amount
  • Volume - total quantity
  • Tier - pricing brackets
  • Package - fixed quantity


Depending on the discount choice Discount conditions change.


Per Unit Discount Type

When Promotion Rule is per unit, the per unit price of a discount has to be specified. 


You can set up two types of discounts in Promotion Rule:

  • Fixed Amount Discount
  • Percentage Discount

 

Fixed Amount

This discount type will deduct the specified amount from the total amount of the line item if this promotion rule is associated with the product. 


Percentage

This discount type will deduct the specified percentage amount from the total amount of the line item if this promotion rule is associated with the product. 


You can also set other conditions, like exclude shipping in promotion and require min transaction value.


Total Amount Discount Type

When Promotion Rule is total amount, the total amount of a discount has to be specified. 


You can set up two types of coupons in Promotion Rule:

  • Fixed Amount Discount
  • Percentage Discount

 

Fixed Amount

This discount type will deduct the specified amount from the total amount of the invoice.


Percentage

This discount type will deduct the specified percentage amount from the total amount of the invoice.


You can also set other conditions, like exclude shipping in promotion and require min transaction value.


Volume Discount Type

With Volume discount type, the price depends on the total quantity purchased. You can setup quantity volumes and pricing associated with it.


Setup 'Starting Quantity' and 'Ending Quantity'.


For example: for order between 1 and 20, the price is $19 USD, for orders between 21 and 30 the price is $15 USD. So if customer purchased 25 items, the price will be $15 USD each.

Tier Discount Type - pricing brackets

With Tier discount type, the price depends on the price for a specific quantity brackets. You can setup quantity brackets and pricing associated with it.


Setup 'Starting Quantity' and 'Ending Quantity'.


For example: for order between 1 and 20, the price is $19 USD, for orders between 21 and 30 the price is $15 USD. So if customer purchased 25 items, the price will be $19 USD for first 20 items, and $15 USD for 5 items..


You can also set other conditions, like exclude shipping in promotion and require min transaction value.


Package Discount Type

With Package discount type, the price is set for a fixed quantity in the package.


Setup 'Quantity' in the package and define the price.


For example: for order of 20, the price is $15 USD.
