You can issue a free gift card with a set value to an existing customer as an incentive, promotion, or reward.
When you issue a gift card, you generate a gift card code, and email it to a customer without receiving any payment in return. You decide how much the gift card is worth, and the customer who receives it can use its value toward other products in your store.
Each gift card is associated with a user ledger account on Omnibasis. To issue a free Gift Card, you need to create a new ledger account for a user or customer and make a deposit into the account.
Navigate to omniBooks \ User Ledgers \ Giftcards and select Create from actions menu.
- Select a User or a Customer for this account.
- Select a Type of the account to Gift Card Balance or Store Card Balance.
- Select Currency for the account.
- Give it a detailed Name.
- Enter initial Balance.
- Use Details section to setup detailed rules for this account including redemption code.
- Click Create.
Note: After a gift card is issued, the full gift card code is visible only to the customer because gift cards are considered currency. You can see only the last four characters in the code for the gift card. You can write down the code at the time of issue if you need it immediately.
